Lacated in Salm, the Hippogriffery is where hippogriffs are bred, hatched, and trained by minotaur warrior riders. hippogriffs are said to be part dire eagle (extinct) and part warhorse. There are minotaur legends of their domestication that go back 2 millennium, though none can be confirmed.
The minotaur that ride the hippogriffs also are responsible for breeding and training them. Any minotaur less than 15 years of age may travel to the Hippogriffery in the first month of spring to approach the nest of a mother hippogriff. If the minotaur is allowed by the mother to touch the nest, he is accepted into the ranks of the Hippogriffery and one of the eggs in the nest he touched will hatch the hippogriff he will ride.
Hippogriffs are extremely intelligent creatures. They cannot speak any language, but are capable of understanding several hundred words and following complex directions.
